VICTIM: Yucaipa Deputy

On Monday, July 25, 2016 at 3:41 p.m. Deputies responded to a theft call at a restaurant in Yucaipa. Based on the description provided by a witness to the theft, deputies contacted and detained Aaron Cole a short distance from the restaurant. Cole was handcuffed prior to being transported back to the restaurant, where deputies continued their investigation. A deputy realized that Cole was trying to manipulate the handcuffs to get them off his wrists. The deputy tried to reposition the cuffs, but Cole had already freed one hand. Cole broke away from the deputy’s grasp and fled the scene. Other deputies chased Cole and apprehended him as he tried to re-enter the restaurant.
