INCIDENT: PC664/215 Attempted Carjacking
LOCATION: 12000 Block of 7th St., Yucaipa
SUSPECT(S): Confidential – juvenile male
Summary
On Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at approximately 7:17 p.m. the victim was seated in her parked vehicle waiting for her grandchild’s football game to end.The suspect approached the vehicle and tried to pull the victim out of the drivers seat.The victim was able to yell out loud enough for someone to call 911. Several Yucaipa residents ran to help the victim and chased the suspects on foot before deputies were notified. Deputies were able to locate one of the suspects shortly after; while the other two were not located. The Yucaipa Station Multiple Enforcement Team was able to identify the juvenile suspect and other involved parties. The Juvenile suspect is currently being held at Riverside County Juvenile Hall without bail for unrelated charges and will be charged with PC664/215, Attempted Carjacking through San Bernardino County Juvenile system.
The Multiple Enforcement Team / Problem Oriented Policing Detail is funded by and serves the City of Yucaipa.Among other duties, officers assigned to this detail seek wanted persons, work with parole and probation officers to ensure that people under their supervision remain in compliance with the law, and respond to concerns expressed by citizens regarding all types of criminal activity that is affecting their neighborhoods and communities.Citizens with any such information are encouraged to contact Deputy C.
