DATE/TIME: Monday, November 7, 2016 7:16 a.m.

INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision

LOCATION: Oak Glen Road / Chapman Heights Road, Yucaipa.

INVOLVED PARTY (1): Amy Heaton, age 41 of Yucaipa, driving a 1998 Ford Expedition.

INVOLVED PARTY (2): Agosta Salcita, age 76 of Yucaipa.

Summary

On Monday, November 7, 2016, at about 7:16 a.m., deputies from the Yucaipa Police Department res;ponded to the report of a traffic collision at Oak Glen Road and Chapman Heights Road. Through their investigation, deputies determined that Amy Heaton was driving south on Chapman Heights and entered the left turn lane to drive east on Oak Glen. At the same time, Agosta Salcita was walking with a family member in the north / southbound crosswalk on the east side of the intersection. Heaton completed her left turn and the front of the Ford struck Salcita. Salcita’s body came to rest in the eastbound number two lane, Heaton immediately stopped and began to render aid. Salcita was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center where she later died as a result of her injuries.
