INCIDENT: Felony Possession of Stolen Property
LOCATION: 31250 Hampton Rd (East Valley Pawn)
SUSPECT(S): #1- Michael Riley, age 33, resident of Calimesa
#2- Timothy Phillips, age 37, resident of Yucaipa
On November 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Yucaipa MET Deputies responded to 31250 Hampton Rd (East Valley Pawn) for a subject attempting to pawn stolen property. Michael Riley was detained and found to be in possession of property that was reported stolen from vehicle and commercial burglaries in Yucaipa, Beaumont, and Palm Springs. Among the stolen property was a Redlands School District deputy chief badge, a computer from the Palm Springs Unified School District, several license plates to vehicles that are reported stolen, and other items. Through investigation, the MET team authored a search warrant for a residence at the 34300 block of Avenue E. Yucaipa Station detectives assisted with the investigation and the service of the search warrant, which led to the recovery of about $3,000.00 worth of additional stolen property. Deputies identified an additional suspect, Timothy Phillips, who was located at a later time. Both Riley and Phillips were arrested and booked into Central Detention Center.
The Multiple Enforcement Team / Problem Oriented Policing Detail is funded by and serves the City of Yucaipa. Among other duties, officers assigned to this detail seek wanted persons, work with parole and probation officers to ensure that people under their supervision remain in compliance with the law, and respond to concerns expressed by citizens regarding all types of criminal activity that is affecting their neighborhoods and communities.
