INCIDENT: PC211 Strong Arm Robbery
LOCATION: Avenue D at the intersection of 15th Street, City of Yucaipa
SUSPECT(S): Suspect #1- Juan Estrada, 19 years old, Yucaipa
Suspect #2 – Unidentified male in his 20’s
On Friday, September 30, 2016 at 12:34 a.m. the victim and his female friend were walking on Avenue D on their way to the store. Estrada and an unidentified male walked up behind them and started to engage in conversation. They accused the victim of being a child molester, began pushing him and threatened to kill him. One of the subjects simulated a weapon by holding his hand in his pocket. Estrada searched the victim’s pockets and removed the victim’s cell phone and some currency. A short time later, Estrada threw the victim’s phone back at him.
While the suspects were robbing the male victim, female acquaintance was able to summon deputies by dialing 911 on her cell phone. Deputies arrived soon after the phone call was placed and located the two suspects nearby. Estrada was immediately detained but the second subject fled on foot and is still at large. The victim’s money was recovered.
Juan Estrada was booked at Central Detention Center for PC211, Robbery.
