INCIDENT: Arrest for Possession of a Destructive Device, Possession of Methamphetamine and Warrants.

LOCATION: Twentynine Palms Hwy / Balsa Ave, Yucca Valley

SUSPECT(S): Christina Stanford, 45 year old female resident of Joshua Tree

Summary

Deputy S. Ables contacted Christina Stanford during a traffic enforcement stop for expired vehicle registration in Yucca Valley. During the contact, Stanford was found to be an unlicensed driver with an active arrest warrant and was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Several homemade destructive devices resembling pipe bombs were located during a search of the vehicle. The Sheriff’s Arson and Bomb Detail responded and rendered the devices safe.
  
Stanford was arrested and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for Possession of a Destructive Device, Possession of Methamphetamine and her outstanding arrest warrant. Stanford is being held in lieu of $650,000 bail.
