DATE/TIME: October 1, 2017, at approximately 9:00 p.m.
INCIDENT: Felon in Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Prescription Narcotics for Sales
LOCATION: 9th St./Waterman Ave., city of San Bernardino.
SUSPECT(S): Durrell Deshawn Hampton, 31-year old resident of Redlands.
VICTIM(S): The State of California


Deputy Tristan and his field training officer (FTO) Deputy Tabor, from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s – Central Station conducted a traffic stop on Durrell Deshawn Hampton for expired registration. When they approached the vehicle, deputies observed a black semi-automatic hand gun on the front passenger seat. Hampton was detained without incident. The Ruger 9mm was loaded and during a search of the vehicle, they located prescription narcotics, digital scale and a large quantity of U.S. currency consistent with sales of illicit narcotics. Hampton is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing a firearm. Hampton also had an active felony arrest warrant for robbery. Hampton was booked into Central Detention Center.
