Victim(s): Multiple in Chino Hills
Suspect(s): Miguel Esparza, 18-year-old resident of Los Angeles
Two Hispanic males, 15-year-old residents of Los Angeles



Using video surveillance, Miguel Esparza and the second juvenile were identified. Esparza was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center. The second juvenile is in custody in Los Angeles County for an unrelated crime. (surveillance evidence is not being released)

On November 15, 2017 at approximately 2:42 p.m., deputies received information of two males knocking on the victim’s door. The suspect’s arrived in stolen blue Scion XB. One suspect entered the victim’s backyard and looked through the window. The suspect made eye contact with the victim and ran to the stolen vehicle.

Deputy Drayer located the vehicle in the 2300 block of Scenic Ridge Drive. He attempted to make contact with the driver, who left at a high rate of speed. The stolen vehicle was located in a nearby driveway after hitting another vehicle and the occupants of the vehicle ran from the scene. Deputies located jewelry, electronics and coins inside the vehicle. Deputy Drayer detained a 15-year-old Hispanic male exiting the backyard of a nearby residence.

Investigators believe these suspects are responsible for three additional burglaries in the area.
