INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Carbon Canyon Road / Canon Lane, Chino Hills
DRIVER: Natalie Javid, 50 year old resident of Chino Hills
Driving a 1998 Lexus sedan
PEDESTRIAN: Tommy Gutierrez, a 20 year old resident of Chino Hills
Summary
On Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 6:23 p.m., Gutierrez parked a vehicle on Canon Lane and walked south to cross Carbon Canyon Road to return to his residence. At the same time, Javid was driving west on Carbon Canyon approaching the same intersection. The front of the Lexus collided with Gutierrez near the center line of the vehicle, in the westbound lane just west of Canon Lane. Javid immediately stopped and members of Gutierrez’s family came to render aid. Gutierrez was transported by AMR to Chino Valley Hospital where he died from his injuries.
