INCIDENT: VC10851 Vehicle Theft; VC2800.2 Felony Evading; PC496 Possession of Stolen Property; PC186.22 Participate in Criminal Street Gang
LOCATION: Greenspot at 210 Freeway, Highland
SUSPECT(S): Jonathan Brett Fisher, 28 of San Bernardino

On Sunday, November 26, 2017, Highland deputies responded to a report of a Honda Civic that was stolen from a parking lot at Baseline and Sterling. Later that night, the vehicle was seen speeding through the parking lot in the Lowe’s shopping center and was recognized as the reported stolen vehicle. When the suspect, Jonathan Brett Fisher, saw a deputy in a patrol unit, he took off at a high rate of speed, westbound on Greenspot Road. He continued to evade deputies and the police helicopter as he drove recklessly and without regard for other drivers. Fisher led deputies on a pursuit that lasted more than 20 minutes throughout the streets of Highland and San Bernardino. He eventually came to stop on Lugo and 30th Street where he was taken into custody without incident. Fisher was found to have a No Bail warrant for his arrest.

Fisher is currently on AB109 PRCS Felony Probation for PC496, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. As a part of Governor Jerry Brown’s Realignment Plan, or Assembly Bill 109, to comply with a U.S. Supreme Court decision requiring the state to lower its prison population by 30,000; offenders with non-violent, non-sexual and non-serious convictions will serve reduced sentences in county jails and be placed on local supervision through county Probation.
