INCIDENT:Fatal Traffic Accident LOCATION:Highland Trail and Bannock Trail, Yucca Valley VICTIM:Matthew Corral, 22 years, Yucca Valley


On Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at about 10:30 pm, Matthew Corral was driving a silver 2000 Ford Expedition west on the dirt road of Highland Trail, approaching Bannock Trail in Yucca Valley. Corral’s girlfriend, Kimberly Lehmann, was a passenger in the front with their two children, ages 1 and 3 years, in the back seat. For unknown reasons, Corral lost control of the vehicle which rolled two times coming to rest on the roof in the intersection of Bannock Trail. Corral was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Lehmann and her two children were able to get out of the vehicle with the assistance from neighbors and were transported by ambulance to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs and later released with minor bumps and bruises.


It is unknown if alcohol or drugs was a factor in the accident.
