INCIDENT: Embezzlement

LOCATION: 5350 Encelia Ave, Twentynine Palms

VICTIM: Twentynine Palms Public Cemetery

SUSPECT: Stacey Lynn Lee, 50-year-old resident of Twentynine Palms

SUMMARY: On Thursday, January 2, 2020, deputies responded to the Twentynine Palms Public Cemetery, for a report of an embezzlement. During the investigation, deputies discovered the manager, Stacey Lee, used the Cemetery’s Credit/Debit Card, without authorization, to purchase miscellaneous items and make ATM withdrawals, totaling over $17,000.00 since September 2019.

On Tuesday, January 7, 2020, deputies served a search warrant at Lee’s residence, and recovered several items belonging to the Cemetery. Lee was arrested and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for embezzlement.
