INCIDENT: Attempted Kidnapping, Annoying/Molesting Victim Under 18

LOCATION: Orick Avenue/Vasquez Avenue, Victorville

SUSPECT(S): David Alvarado, 68-year old Victorville resident

VICTIM(S): Confidential, 2 male juveniles

SUMMARY:
On October 7, 2018, deputies with the Victorville Police Department responded to a call for annoying/molesting a child, near Orick Avenue and Vasquez Avenue.

The suspect, identified as David Alvarado, approached the victims near a bus stop at the location. The suspect attempted to have the victims get into his car. When they refused, the suspect exited his car and approached the victims, continuing to try to coax them into the car and at one point exposing himself to the victims. A citizen witnessed the incident and told the suspect to leave the victims alone.

The suspect drove away from the location prior to deputies arriving but was seen entering the parking lot of an apartment complex nearby. He exited his car and ran into his apartment, failing to comply with the orders of deputies on scene. Deputies used their PA system to order Alvarado out of the apartment and took him into custody without further incident.

A photograph of Alvarado is being released, as it is believed there may be additional victims that have not come forward.
