INCIDENT: Minor Injury Traffic Collision

LOCATION: La Paz Drive and Vallejo Street, Victorville

Vehicle #3-2006 Honda CRV

SUMMARY: On February 8, 2019, a deputy from the Victorville Police Department was involved in a minor injury traffic collision on La Paz Drive.

The deputy was traveling north on La Paz Drive behind a 2017 Honda Civic. The driver of a 2006 Honda CRV, traveling north on La Paz Drive in front of the Civic, made a u turn at the intersection of Vallejo Street. The driver of the Civic stopped suddenly to avoid colliding with the CRV. The deputy was not able to stop the patrol car before colliding with the rear of the Civic.

Two female passengers in the Civic had complaints of pain and were transport ed to a local hospital. An infant in the Civic had no visible injuries but was transported to a local hospital, as a precaution. The deputy had minor pain but did not require immediate medical attention. The driver of the CRV was uninjured and was cited for making an unsafe u turn.
