INCIDENT: Enhanced Enforcement
LOCATION: Forest Falls and surrounding mountain communities
SUMMARY: On January 6, 2019, following a winter storm that brought several inches of snow to Forest Falls and the surrounding mountain communities, the Yucaipa Sheriff’s Station deployed additional deputies to the mountain communities to help address quality of life issues and maintain order amidst the thousands of visitors who came to the area. The California Highway Patrol also provided extra patrol in the area.
During the day, deputies handled 21 calls for service in the mountain communities. The calls included several traffic hazard and collision incidents, a car fire and one call regarding persons on sleds that were trespassing on private property. Deputies issued 23 citations – most for parking in prohibited areas, and one car was towed.
The Yucaipa Station will continue to place additional resources in the mountain communities, as needed, to address criminal concerns and quality of life issues raised by both residents and visitors.
