INCIDENT: PC 211-Armed Robbery

LOCATION: 13000 block of Calimesa Blvd. – Fastrip Convenience Store

SUSPECT: Eduardo Leon, 25-years-old, resident of Yucaipa

Law enforcement received a 9-1-1 call from the location reporting a suspect just tried to rob the store at knifepoint, then fled.

The investigation showed the suspect entered the business, brandished a knife at the clerk and demanded the clerk give him money from the registers. The suspect then lunged at the clerk with the knife. In self-defense, the clerk hit the suspect with a leaf blower. The suspect attempted to open the register on his own and failed. He took cigarettes and fled.

An area check was conducted around the location but the suspect was not immediately located.

Approximately an hour later, an unresponsive male was reported slumped over on the toilet inside a local Valero gas station’s bathroom. Through investigation, Eduardo Leon was identified as the Fastrip robbery suspect and was taken into custody.

Leon was arrested and booked into jail at Central Detention Center for PC 211-Armed Robbery. He is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
