INCIDENT: Enhanced Enforcement Operation

LOCATION: Uptown Yucaipa

In response to concerns from citizens and business owners, deputies and probation officers conducted enhanced enforcement in the areas surrounding Yucaipa’s Historic Uptown area. Deputies focused enforcement efforts on alleys, side streets, areas behind businesses and washes. Numerous subjects were contacted and 11 were arrested and booked into a San Bernardino County Jail facility for a variety of offenses, including outstanding warrants and drug related offenses.

Notable incidents included:

During foot patrol in the “Chicken Springs Wash” area (34790 block of Yucaipa Blvd) Deputy Rosa contacted and arrested Tony Dixon, 57 years old, Yucaipa Transient, for an active arrest warrant.

Deputy Rosa contacted Timothy Weems, age 57 and Matthew Hall, age 28, both transient residents of Yucaipa at 1st Street Park. Both were arrested for active arrest warrants for trespassing, and for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jordan Maxwell, age 34-year-old resident of Yucaipa was contacted at Avenue B/Bryant St. Maxwell is on Probation and was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant and for PC 3454, a probation violation for removing his GPS monitor from his ankle.

Michael Alba, 52-year-old resident of Yucaipa was contacted during a traffic enforcement stop at Yucaipa Blvd and 2nd St. He was arrested for having $75,000.00 in outstanding arrest warrants.

While assisting patrol deputies with a 911 call at a residence located in the 12800 block of Bryant St., Deputy Alcala and P.O. Ulloa arrested Shannon Flores, 29 years old, for possession of drug paraphernalia. Christopher Blain, 25 years old, was arrested by Deputy D. Wedge for an outstanding arrest warrant and for possessing drug paraphernalia and pepper spray

Jashua Scholkopf, a 36-year-old transient resident of Yucaipa was contacted on Yucaipa Blvd and 5th St. He was arrested for having outstanding arrest warrants.

David Elizalde, a 22-year-old resident of Yucaipa, was contacted behind the YUCAL Motel located at 14th St/Yucaipa Blvd. Elizalde was found to have several outstanding arrest warrants, totaling $225,000.00 and was arrested.

Numerous additional arrests were made for drug paraphernalia charges, outstanding arrest warrants and public intoxication.
