INCIDENT: Major Injury Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Yucaipa Blvd & 10th St., Yucaipa
DRIVER: 23-year-old male, resident of Yucaipa
PEDESTRIAN: 24-year-old female, resident of El Monte
SUMMARY:
On July 30, 2018 at 12:44 a.m. the driver of a gray, Nissan Altima was traveling west on Yucaipa Blvd., approaching 10th St. when the driver struck a pedestrian, believed to have been walking in the roadway. The driver and another nearby pedestrian rendered aid until Yucaipa Police and Cal-Fire arrived on scene. The pedestrian struck by the vehicle sustained serious injuries and was transported by ambulance to Loma Linda University Medical Center for evaluation and treatment of injuries. The driver was uninjured. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the case of the driver and the cause of the collision is under investigation.
