INCIDENT: Vehicle Burglary/ Possession of Stolen Property
LOCATION: 42000 Jenks Lake Rd., Barton Flats
SUSPECT: Daniel Ponce, 50 years old, resident of Beaumont
VICTIM: Pacific Slope Tree Company
SUMMARY:
On April 26, 2017, an unknown suspect(s) forced entry into a company vehicle belonging to Pacific Slope Tree Company. The suspects stole multiple items of property, including chainsaws and climbing gear.
In November of 2017, information was obtained that Daniel Ponce pawned two of the stolen chainsaws in Banning, California. Attempts were made to contact Ponce about the stolen property, but investigators were unsuccessful in locating him. The case was eventually placed into an inactive status, pending new leads.
During December of 2018, detectives developed new leads and confirmed the whereabouts of Daniel Ponce. On December 19, 2018 a search warrant was executed at a residence in the city of Beaumont and Ponce was taken into custody. Additional items stolen during the burglary were recovered at the residence. Ponce is currently in custody at Central Detention Center.
