INCIDENT: PC 21310 – Weapon Offense H&S 11377 – Possession of Methamphetamine
LOCATION: 32000 block of Yucaipa Boulevard, Yucaipa
SUSPECT: Oscar Castro-Lopez, 40, Lakewood resident
VICTIM: People of the State of California
SUMMARY: Deputies from the Yucaipa Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance behind Cal Fire Station 552 on Yucaipa Blvd.
Deputies arrived to find Oscar Castro-Lopez yelling at a Hispanic female adult. Deputies separated the parties, and, during the contact, Castro lifted his flannel sweater, exposing a black handle attached to a metal rod. Deputies retrieved the weapon, which was found to be an improvised stabbing weapon made of a 7-inch stainless-steel rod sharpened to a fine point, commonly referred to as a “shank”. Deputies took Castro-Lopez into custody without incident.
During a search of Castro-Lopez, deputies located approximately 9 grams of suspected methamphetamine on his person. Castro-Lopez was booked into the Central Detention Center with bail set at $35,000.
