INCIDENT: Burglary

LOCATION: 3380 Avalon Dr.,  Yucca Valley

SUSPECT(S): Unknown

VICTIM(S): Yucca Mesa Elementary, Onaga Elementary

SUMMARY: On Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at about 6:30 am, deputies responded to Yucca Mesa Elementary School for a burglary report. During the investigation, deputies discovered several thousands of dollars’ worth of copper wire was stolen, three portable classrooms were damaged, and a locked container was forced open, and several children’s toys were stolen. The classrooms were closed until repairs can be completed.

Around the same time, deputies received a call from Onaga Elementary School for similar circumstances. Deputies discovered several thousands of dollars in damage, copper wire removed, and several classrooms damaged.
