INCIDENT: Residential Robbery

LOCATION: 55000 block of Macdonald Lane, Yucca Valley

SUSPECT(S): Scott Herman Bryant, a 59-year-old resident of Yucca Valley.

VICTIM(S): Confidential, 66-year-old male resident of Yucca Valley

SUMMARY: On August 31, at 1:28 a.m., deputies from the Morongo Basin Station responded to the 55000 block of Macdonald Lane in the town of Yucca Valley, following a report of a residential robbery. Deputies discovered the suspect, Scott Bryant, arrived at the victim’s residence and kicked in the front door. Bryant entered the residence and assaulted the victim. The victim, fearing for his life, grabbed a firearm for protection. A struggle ensued over the possession of the firearm. During the struggle, a shot was fired into the ceiling of the residence. Bryant was able to force the firearm out of the victim’s hand. Bryant fled the home on a motorcycle with the victim’s gun.

Deputies later contacted Bryant at his home in the 7300 of Frontera Ave in Yucca Valley. Bryant was taken into custody, and deputies located the stolen firearm. Bryant was arrested for residential robbery and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail.
