Patrick Scalzitti's Biography
Patrick Scalzitti has been working with San Bernardino County since 2013 and began his County career in the Purchasing Department. Patrick has worked in several departments before promoting to the Finance & Operations Chief of the Community Services Group supporting Airports, Agriculture Weights & Measures, Library, Museum, Regional Parks and Registrar of Voters. In his current position as Interim Purchasing Director, Patrick is excited to work with the great team of staff, as well as the various County departments and vendors to meet all the purchasing needs for San Bernardino County.
Patrick earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Loma Linda University. Patrick is married with four children and would enjoy weightlifting and music production if he had any spare time.
Jackie Ambrose's Biography
Jacqueline Ambrose has joined the San Bernardino County Purchasing Department after 8 years of public sector experience in Riverside County, which includes financial analysis and facilities management. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Technical Management from Devry University. In her free time, Jackie enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Bill Brock's Biography
Bill Brock has nearly 15 years of service in County purchasing. Prior to that, he had a substantial career as a private sector purchasing manager. He has expertise with law enforcement equipment and services, with a special focus on vehicles. Bill has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology. He and his wife Kelly have been married since 1987 and have two children. He enjoys spending his free time with his family and their German Shepherds, Chloe and Lola.
Michael Candelaria's Biography
For 23 years, Michael Candelaria has expanded his career, first in retail purchasing and then finding his passion in public service. He has worked with nearly every County department and is responsible for several countywide agreements including furniture and information technology equipment. He is a skillful trainer and a Certified Professional Public Buyer, and is assigned to the Sheriff’s Department where the budget comprises nearly three-fourths of the County’s discretionary spending. As an active member of California Association of Public Procurement Officers since 2001, Michael has served as an officer for Inland Empire Chapter for 4 years, as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice-Chair and Chair.

Leo Gomez's Biography
Leo has been with the Purchasing Department for 18 years in various positions and holds the designation of Certified Professional Public Buyer. As supervising buyer he oversees a staff of 13 and is part of the management team. His analytical abilities and broad knowledge of all County departments positions him as a “go to” person for staff throughout the County. He is a purchasing subject matter expert on Board of Supervisors agenda items, and he is instrumental in defining electronic workflows to implement County policy. Leo is a member of the California Association of Public Procurement Officials and routinely makes presentations to the vendor community. He and his wife Mary married in 1990 and have three sons.

Brian Hashima's Biography
With over 20 years of purchasing and purchasing management experience in the private sector, Brian Hashima has extensive procurement knowledge in manufacturing, retail and financial services. He holds a bachelor’s degree and also attended Western State College of Law. With a work philosophy of treating his co-workers as his family, Brian is a welcomed addition to the Purchasing Department. Brian is married with two teenage daughters, and enjoys sports and reading in his spare time.
