Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day workshop designed for all community members. This training will enhance a person’s ability to assist a person at risk of suicide. Over the course of the training, attendees will learn to Identify people who have thoughts of suicide, understand how beliefs and attitudes can affect suicide interventions, reduce barriers which hinder the ability to be direct and comfortable with suicidal situations, conduct a safety assessment and develop a plan that will keep the person at risk safe-for-now, and engage in building resource networks for individuals at risk of suicide.
