COURSE OVERVIEW:
This new course is focused on the dynamics of leading professional staff employees in a law enforcement agency. Supervisors, managers and aspiring leaders are provided with a contemporary professional growth opportunity exploring the various leadership concepts involved with the ongoing appraisal of workplace productivity and personnel performance evaluations. Through facilitator-led discussions and learning activities, students will engage in topics including the impact of effective performance documentation related to organizational culture, providing effective feedback about performance, common appraisal mistakes, organizational pitfalls, performance accountability and leadership characteristics. This course also examines supervisory and managerial responsibilities in the areas of continuous engagement and monitoring of employee’s performance related to organizational goals, evaluating proactive problem-solving efforts and effective delivery of law enforcement services to the community
