Live Scan Appointments
Live Scan is an inkless electronic fingerprinting service for the completion of a criminal record check in certain employment or license applications. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department offers this service at its main building at 655 East 3rd Street, San Bernardino. For other locations, please contact your local police department for Live Scan appointments in your area.
When arriving at your scheduled appointment, please ensure you bring:
- Your completed Live Scan application form.
- The fee payment, in cash or money order.
- A valid, unexpired, government-issued photo identification card.
Because the content of each form varies depending on what and with who you are applying for, the Sheriff’s Department will not provide Live Scan application forms. You must obtain and complete the appropriate form prior to your appointment. The Department is not liable for the submission of incorrect forms.
While the Department’s rolling fee is $32, government fees are required for State (DOJ) and Federal (FBI) criminal record checks. Additional fees may also be required for certain licenses and certifications. For a list of current fee charges, please see the Applicant Fingerprint Processing Fee page provided by the California Office of the Attorney General. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department accepts cash and/or money orders, paid at the time of the service.
A valid government-issued photo ID will need to be presented to the Live Scan operator at the time of your appointment. Expired identification documents will not be accepted under any circumstances.
Failure to bring all of the required materials listed above may result in the need to reschedule your appointment.
For any questions, please contact Records at (909)-888-5916.
