Centralized Classification Unit (CCU)

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Bureau of Detention and Correction’s Centralized Classification Units mission is to minimize the potential for predatory behavior and escape, while increasing the potential for facility tranquility within our jails and supporting the management of an ever increasing population. Ensuring the safety of both staff and inmates is foremost a priority in an operation safeguarding the compliance of medical, mental health, and educational provisions with an effectual level of resources.

Inmates are evaluated for eligibility in the Early Release Detail.
The ERDs gather the daily facility counts and complete a Haas daily compliance report.
